PESHAWAR, Pakistan—Pakistani intelligence officials say an American missile attack close to the Afghan border has killed eight people.
Friday's strike from a U.S. drone was the first since the American commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden on Monday.
The drone strikes are unpopular in Pakistan and could further inflame tensions between Islamabad and Washington that have flared since the raid on bin Laden.
The officials said the attack took place in North Waziristan, an al-Qaida and Taliban stronghold.
They spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to give out their names.
