Poeloeh, or Win Mi Oo, 36, allegedly killed Ruai, 43, after catching him stealing a 60,000 baht gold necklace belonging to his sister.
Police said he beat Ruai into making a confession at his food shop at the Si Moom Muang fresh market near Rangsit in Pathum Thani. Ruai later died from severe injuries. Poeloeh then hired a man named Mew, who is also Burmese, for 18,000 baht to dispose of the body.
Poeloeh told police he did not know how Mew disposed of the corpse. Mew, who is still at large, allegedly cut up the body, which was found in a bin behind Si Mum Muang market in Pathum Thani's Lam Luk Ka district.
Maj Gen Kamronvit Thoopkrajang, deputy chief of the Provincial Police Region 1, said officers traced Poeloeh from the box which contained body parts.
